Rates and statutory charges change. Verify current charges with your broker, the exchange and SEBI before relying on these figures. Figures are estimates for planning, not a contract note, and nothing here is advice to buy or sell. DP charges apply once per scrip per day on a delivery sell; if you sold across several days or several scrips, multiply that line accordingly.
Estimated from the numbers you entered — not a projection of guaranteed returns. Statutory and exchange rates as of 2026-08.
About this calculator
Every equity trade carries several charges from different parties: your broker, the exchange, the depository and the government. This lays them out line by line for the same trade done as delivery and as intraday, so you can see the total and the net profit or loss after costs.
Formula
- Turnover = Quantity × Price, taken separately for the buy and sell legs
- GST = 18% × (Brokerage + Exchange transaction charge + SEBI turnover fee)
- Net P&L = (Sell value − Buy value) − Total charges
Frequently asked questions
Why does delivery cost more than intraday on the same trade?
Delivery pays STT at 0.1% on both legs, ten times the stamp duty rate, and a DP charge on the sell. Intraday pays STT only on the sell at 0.025%, but usually carries higher brokerage.
Is GST charged on STT and stamp duty?
No. GST applies to brokerage, exchange transaction charges and the SEBI turnover fee. STT and stamp duty are taxes in their own right.
Why does my contract note differ by a few rupees?
Exchanges revise transaction charges by circular, brokers round differently, and some add small levies such as the investor-protection fund contribution. Treat this as an estimate and edit the rate fields to match your broker.
